    Handpicked fruit, fermented in new French oak barriques and puncheons, using indigenous wild yeasts.  Matured in new, large format, non-toasted oak. This wine has been made with minimal intervention in the winery.The palate is mid-weight with fruit flavours of white peach, citrus and a hint of Tahitian lime. Reminiscent of a Chablis style. Enjoy now or will reward with some years in the cellar.

    2018 Basils Farm Reserve Pinot Noir

    Picked in early March, our 2018 Reserve Pinot Noir enjoyed a dry and mild lead up to vintage allowing us to pick on flavour ripeness rather than alcohol. Cool, crisp nights provided the fruit with natural acidity and balance. Whole berries were pressed with some whole bunch fruit, then wild fermented in small open fermenters followed by 12 months maturation in fine-grained French oak and with extended lees contact. The wine is a mid-garnet to crimson in colour, clear and bright. Briary notes of smoky sour cherry and ripe redcurrant waft from the glass. The palate follows through with layers of mulberry, ripe cherries and spice. While drinking well in its youth, some rest in the cellar will reward the patient, allowing the fine tannins to integrate and soften with time. This wine will benefit from prior decanting.

    Bellarine Pinot Noir fruit with a splash of Viognier, handpicked and sorted in the cool of the morning. Indigenous wild yeasts in the winery gave us a cold fermentation in stainless steel, the wine then matured until its August bottling. This wine has been made with minimal intervention.The wine is clear and bright, salmon in colour. The nose shows earthy and zesty notes. The palate brings flavours of sour cherry with hints of strawberries and wild raspberries upon opening with a fresh acid finish and creamy notes developing in the glass. Enjoy now!
