Why did you choose Basils Farm for your wedding?

We were always going to choose somewhere on the Bellarine Peninsula. We looked at a few venues but Basils just had a really nice feel about it. The location and landscape is beautiful and it feels understated and laid back. Exactly the vibe we were going for. We loved the idea of the outdoor dancefloor with the festoon lights. We had also heard great reviews on the food!

What was your favourite moment on your big day?

Our dusk photoshoot down the hill in the grassy flats. The lighting was amazing and it was just us and the photographers. We practised our first dance and just got to escape the hustle and bustle for 15 minutes.

What are some words of wisdom for future Basils couples?

Tell your guests to be prepared for all weather scenarios! We had a windy evening and I’m glad we told guests in advance to bring a coat/jacket. The blankets are definitely handy!

How was the service on the night? Is there a particular staff member that you would like to acknowledge?

Service was great!… We would especially like to acknowledge Greg. He is a machine! We wanted to move our dancefloor inside due to the weather and it was no hassle at all. The bar staff were also very obliging.

Did you enjoy the food on the evening?

All food was delicious! Ned especially liked the canapes.

How did you find the planning process?

We discussed/booked our wedding with Talla initially but Georgie seemed to pick it all up with ease and knew all the questions to ask. No request or idea was shut down and she was super adaptable to the vision we had. The whole night went without a hitch!

Any other comments you would like to add?

Thank you for the most perfect day ever!
