Why did you choose Basils Farm for your wedding?

We chose Basils Farm for our wedding as it’s a boutique winery that had it all. Amazing views of Swan Bay were complemented by beautiful, well-manicured gardens that offered both a formal and informal feel for guests. For us, having a veggie patch and fire pit set in amongst those gardens made the whole place feel homely and down to earth. Basils Farm reflected so much of our personalities and so we knew this would be a magnificent place to have our wedding.

How did you find the planning process?

The planning process was an absolute breeze, even with a global pandemic causing several date changes. Right from the beginning the staff at Basils Farm were friendly and accommodating – from catching up over coffee to discuss initial plans, to tasting the menu and wines (pre-COVID), and having a final meeting to go over every detail of the day. Making decisions became super easy and we felt at ease along the whole journey.

What was your favourite moment on your big day?

Enjoying the atmosphere of Basils Farm in the sunset. It was wonderful having a venue that allowed the flexibility to have your reception both in and outdoors.

What are some words of wisdom for future Basils couples? Don’t sweat the little stuff, small things out of your control will probably go wrong but it will all pale in comparison to the rest of the day. You’re in good hands with the staff at Basil’s Farm.

How was the service on the night? Is there a particular staff member that you would like to acknowledge?

Sensational. Staff were attentive, polite and extremely accommodating. Georgie and Talla both did a fantastic job communicating with us, and were so flexible during the lead-up. In particular, during the various stages of the Coronavirus pandemic and restrictions causing delays and re-bookings – their efforts were truly appreciated.

Did you enjoy the food on the evening?

While unfortunately, we didn’t get much time to enjoy the canapes ourselves, we know the food was sensational. The staff had very kindly arranged a platter of the canapes in the Cellar Door for us – a lovely way of enjoying a private moment together.

Any other comments you would like to add?

Thank you very much Georgie for all of your work behind the scenes, and for how accommodating you have been throughout the entire process. We absolutely loved our wedding and have had so many positive comments about the venue, the food and the atmosphere. You have played a significant part in creating life-long memories for us.
