When is the Cafe open?
We are open Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. (Closed Tuesday & Wednesday).
Our Summer trading hours are 27th December 2020 to 31st January 2021
Closed Tuesday & Wednesday.
Weekdays: 11am to 5pm
Weekends: 11am to 7pm
Do I need to book to dine in the Cafe? Yes, bookings are highly recommended. Off peak times you may be to get a table on a walk-in basis, but we cannot guarantee.

As of the 28th of November, Basils Caravan will be open on weekends for food and drinks.
This is for walk-ins only and tables cannot be reserved. As capacity restrictions are still in place, we cannot guarantee tables will be available at all times.
Does my reserved table have a time limit? Yes, all tables are limited to a maximum seating time of 1.5 hours, starting at your reservation time. This is to allow for later seating times.
Online Booking – the date/time I want is not showing?
Our online system is the only way to make a reservation. All available dates/times are shown.
If your preferred time is not showing – it is not available, and we are booked out for that date/time.
What is the largest group booking I can make? Currently due to Covid-19 socially distancing restrictions bookings of 10 or under can be made. Basils Farm can take bookings of 10 per table in the Pavilion or outside only. Please note everyone over 12 months of age is counted. From the 22nd of November, there is no group size limit in place and people are welcome to book multiple tables online at: www.basilsfarm.com.au/bookings. Groups order off the a la carte menu, no group packages are available for lunch.
Do you cater for vegans? Yes, we have a number of options for vegans. If you have specific dietary requirements please mention this when booking to ensure we can cater to your requirements. Please view our menu at https://basilsfarm.com.au/cafe-menu/
Do you have Gluten Free options? Yes, we have a number of gluten-free options on the menu. If you have specific dietary requirements please mention this when booking to ensure we can cater to your requirements. Please view our menu at https://basilsfarm.com.au/cafe-menu/
Can I bring a cake? You can bring your own café for a one-off fee of $20. Due to Victorian food safety laws, Basils Farm requests that cakes are professionally prepared by a licensed food retailer or licensed food business. Please inform staff that you are bringing a cake by emailing email@example.com
Alternatively, we can make* a cake on request for $75 (serves 12). The following options are available:

-Pavlova with fresh fruit

Can I select where I sit when dining? Basils Farm has two dining selections. Inside/Veranda or Pavilion/Gardens. Please select your preference when booking online.
What area should I choose?
Inside/veranda – you will be seated in the old farmhouse. The farmhouse has air conditioning and heating. There is an outside veranda which can hold two tables, this has outside heating.
You can make a preference on where you would like to sit although we cannot guarantee.
Pavilion/gardens – you will either be seated in our outside covered deck or outside on the lawns. Both areas have outside heaters and shade. We recommend bringing a coat on colder days.
When booking online you can select your seating preference however we cannot always accommodate all requests. Seating configurations are set up on the morning of the reservation, taking into account all bookings.
Can I change my mind and book inside or outside? Unfortunately, due to the number of bookings we receive (especially on weekends) most areas are booked out in advance and therefore we cannot change your booking area. All available areas will show on our online booking system www.basilsfarm.com.au/bookings
What are your Booking Conditions? Please refer to the Cafe page.
Can I reserve a table and just have drinks? Due to capacity restrictions, our current terms and conditions indicate that those seated at a booked table (Farmhouse/Pavilion/Gardens) must be dining with us. Reserved tables in these areas are not available for drinks only.
Our Caravan will be open for food and drinks for walk-in’s. Tables in this area are not reserved and casual drinks are available from the Caravan. No table reservations in this area.

What are you doing to adhere to Covid-19 regulations? We will be adhering to social distancing requirements with tables being placed 1.5 meters apart. Hand sanitiser will be available and we will be increasing the cleaning of the venue throughout the day. Venue capacity limits, group booking limits and time limits apply.
Are you dog friendly? Yes, we permit friendly doggies that can be kept on a leash outdoors. We have outdoor dining areas under umbrellas that are perfect for those dining with dogs. Please notify us on your reservation so we can make sure your table is suitable for your four-legged friends.
Do you have wheelchair accessible toilets? Yes, the Cellar Door has accessible toilets, accessed via a ramp.
Do you have wheelchair accessible dining areas? Yes, we have extensive outdoor dining which is easily accessible via a path and the Farmhouse and Pavilion dining areas are accessible via the Cafe Kitchen. Please advise the staff on arrival and we can direct you to the entrance.
Do you have accessible parking? Yes, we have an accessible parking spot.
Do you have beverages other than wine? Yes, we have a number of non-alcoholic beverages, beers, and cocktails on the menu.
Do you have Gift Vouchers? Yes, Gift Vouchers are available to purchase online https://basilsfarm.com.au/giftvouchers/
Do you have live music? Yes, in January we have live music from 3-6pm on Friday and Saturday and every Sunday from 12.30-3.30pm. We also have “Sunday Sessions” from 12.30-3.30pm in February, March and April.

Are you child friendly? Yes, we have a children’s menu and also have wide open (safe) spaces for children to play. We also have a sandpit with toys and resident llamas and Baby Doll Sheep. Activity Packs that include animal feed are available from the Cafe for $10 for those dining in the Cafe. Being a working farm, we kindly ask children are supervised at all times.

Do you have high chairs? Yes, please request a high chair when booking or in the comments section for online bookings.
OPENING HOURS – PUBLIC HOLIDAYS
What are your summer hours? Over the Summer of 2020/21 we will continue to be open 5 days a week, closing on Tuesday & Wednesday. *Please visit our Cafe Page for the current opening hours. From 27th December we will also open from 3pm to 7pm for dining and will have musicians performing (Subject to change).
Are you open Public holidays? We are open on a number of Public Holidays including New Years Day, Good Friday, Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday, Labor Day Long Weekend (Monday in March), Queens Birthday Long Weekend (Monday in June). *Please visit our Cafe Page for the current opening hours. Please note on public holidays there will be a 20% surcharge on all food and beverages. Excluding takeaway wines.
Which Public Holiday’s are you closed?*– Christmas Day, Boxing Day, Australia Day (closed Tuesday), Grand Final Public Holiday, Melbourne Cup (Closed Tuesday), Geelong Cup (Closed Wednesday). *Please visit our Cafe Page for the current opening hours.
Are you open for Christmas Day Lunch? Sorry, we are not open on Christmas Day.
Are you open for New Year’s Eve evening? No, sorry we are not open on New Years’ Eve evening.
CELLAR DOOR & WINE
When is the Cellar Door open?
The Cellar Door is open on weekends – 11am to 4pm. Walk-in’s only. Maximum group size of 6. During the week, Take Away wine can be purchased in the Cafe and self-guided wine tasting paddles are available for $10 per person.
Do you offer free wine delivery? For online orders of 6 or more bottles of wine we offer free delivery Australia wide.
Do I need to book to visit the Cellar Door for a wine tasting?
Bookings are not required for wine tastings. The Cellar Door is open on weekends and during weekdays, self-guided wine-tasting paddles are available in the Cafe.
Can I purchase take away wine at the Cafe? Yes, if the Cellar Door is closed you can purchase takeaway wine at the Cafe. Special offers are available for those dining in-house.
Do you have an Online Wine Shop? Yes. Please visit our online wine sales. Receive 10% off purchases of 6 or more bottles. Free delivery is available Australia wide.
ANIMALS & GARDENS
Is the Kids Animal Feeding Activity running? Currently, the group Animal Feeding is not being run, however, a Kids Activity Pack can be purchased for $1o when dining in the Cafe. The Pack contains animal feed, a scavenger hunt, and craft activities.
Are you running Gardening workshops? No, currently we are not holding gardening workshops.
GROUP BOOKINGS, EVENTS & WEDDINGS
Can I make a group booking? In light of the latest Government announcements, we have updated our COVID Safe Plan allowing a maximum table of 10 people (All adults and children over 12 months are included). All available tables will be shown on our online booking system at: www.basilsfarm.com.au/bookings If you would like to make a booking, please click on the link, and select “Pavilion/Outside”.
All patrons dining in will order off the a la carte menu. Our current menu can be found at: www.basilsfarm.com.au/cafe-menu
NB: this changes seasonally, so please check back closer to your booking.
Do you offer group dining packages? Currently, we have a limit of 10 people per group, please note everyone over 12 months of age is counted. From the 22nd of November, there is a group size limit in place of 20 guests. Groups are welcome to book multiple tables online at: www.basilsfarm.com.au/bookings. Groups order off the a la carte menu, group packages are not available for lunch. We can only accommodate tables of 10 in the Pavilion and outside only. Please note, the 1.5 hour seating time still applies
